I visited The Church in May 2014. The Basilica di San Carlo is an artistic and cultural masterpiece. Near the paintings, frescos and sculptures of the Baroque Masters of the 17th – 18th century you can discover 16 bas-reliefs (85x100x15) of the “Via Crucis” conceived and realized exclusively for Basilica di San Carlo, by the sculptor Fernando Mario Paonessa, the same author of the Crucifix Il Cristo ” Consummatum est”.

“The Consummatum est” is a bronze crucifix designed and made specially for the Basilica of S. Carlo by Fernando Mario Paonessa.

“… It is the Christ, who by crucifixion died, from the life for the salvation of humanity to the last drop of blood…” [description after written informations in the Church, translated from Italian]
